Carnatic Vocal Recital by Sri Sathiraju Venumadhav

The maiden event organized by AnandaPriya was a Carnatic vocal recital by the upcoming artiste Sri Sathiraju Venumadhav at Saptaparni. It was a well-attended evening, with about a 150-strong audience of music lovers enjoying the performance.

Sathiraju Venu Madhav’s concert included 'Purushothamudaveevu' in Revagupthi ragam, Khanda Chhapu talam, an Annamacharya kirthana tuned by Sri Nedunuri Krishna Murthy. Another exceptional Annamacharya composition tuned by Venu Madhav himself, 'Ethade Parabrahma' in ragam Ritigowla, Adi talam was followed by 'Teliyaleru Rama Bhakti Margamu,' a Thyagaray kirtana in Dhenuka ragam, Adi talam. 'Samajavaragamana,' in Hindolam was rendered beautifully, captivating the audience.

'Entho Mahanubhavudavu' in Shanmukhapriya ragam, Khanda Chhapu talam, a devotional Ramadasu kirthana, tuned by Venu Madhav himself showcased his mastery in rendering minute and delicate ‘anuswarams’ in gamakas, which greatly enhanced the repertoire. 'Thaanedo manasedo' an Annamacharya kirthana tuned by Venu Madhav, the evergreen Thyagaraja kirthana 'Nagumomu ganaleni naa badha' and 'Kaanakuntini indaaka' an Annamacharya kirthana in Sama ragam tuned by Venu Madhav captured the various nuances of pain expressively.

He was accompanied by senior artistes Sri O Raja Sekhar on Violin and Sri TP Balasubramanian on the Mridangam.
